we asked a.i. to list "15 grievances" that city dwellers must face in their tenure in such a dense influential powerhouse of a city!

this is what "chatty" a.i. came up with based on its due dil & research [obviously there can more added, however time is money and who has time for long winded post anyways...]

there not in any specific order, just random & relatable:

  1. Rent That Increases Faster Than Your Salary

Annual rent hikes that feel completely detached from reality.

  2. Public Transportation That’s “Delayed Due to Operational Issues”

A vague excuse everyone knows means “you’re late again.”

  3. Noise That Never Stops (Ever)

Sirens, construction, honking, leaf blowers at 7am, neighbors partying at 2am.

  4. Construction That Takes Years to Finish One Block

Bonus points if no one knows what they’re actually building.

  5. Tiny Apartments Marketed as “Cozy” or “Efficient”

When your kitchen doubles as your hallway and bedroom.

  6. Overcrowded Everything

Sidewalks, elevators, gyms, parks, cafés—personal space is a luxury item.

  7. The Cost of Basic Living

$9 coffee, $20 sandwiches, and “convenience fees” for existing.

  8. Bad Drivers + Aggressive Pedestrians + Fearless Cyclists

Everyone thinks they are right, and everyone else is the problem.

  9. Parking Nightmares (Even If You Don’t Own a Car)

Street cleaning tickets, impossible garages, and mystery tow trucks.

  10. Trash, Recycling, and the Smell of Summer

Overflowing bins, confusing recycling rules, and heat-activated odors.

  11. Gentrification Whiplash

Your favorite cheap spot disappears and is replaced by a minimalist café selling $14 toast.

  12. Homelessness Everyone Sees but No One Fixes

A shared discomfort mixed with guilt, frustration, and policy failures.

  13. Dating in the City Is Exhausting

Too many options, zero commitment, and ghosting as a lifestyle.

  14. Work-Life Balance That’s Mostly Work

Long commutes, hustle culture, and the pressure to always be “doing something.”

  15. The Myth That You’re “Lucky to Live Here”

When outsiders romanticize your daily grind, noise, and stress.

we kept the list basic, no over explaining, pretty straight forward,

solid list & we have our favorites,

if you know you know, if you don't maybe you haven't been a city dweller for long ..!.

there are millions of individuals that wake up to this reality, daily,

a couple topics on the list just seem out of place,

but for the most part we can relate to 80% of the list,

which ones on the list really grinds your gears?

what's your city gripes?
