start[ing] over ...
Updated: Sep 3

over the years we've all had to adjust to changes life throws at us,
one of the biggest fears we've experienced in life's is starting over,
many have no choice, those are the hurdles life has given them,
the cards fate has dealt them,
and then there is that population that "volunteers" to start over,
for better opportunities, or just tired of the same old hamster wheel mentality scheme,
[random relatable risqué]
let's keep it 100 & simple,
let's play a quick game of "have you ever?"
have you ever had to start over and find...
a new career or job,
a new place,
a new school,
an all-around new life,
was it voluntary,
or strong armed?
anything that is "new" or life changing is what we're talking about,
starting over can be a pain in the ass,
but it could be for the best, or the worse emotional rollercoaster of your life,
hindsight is 20 20,
covid made millions of humans change behavioral patterns,
their thinking,
their short term & long-term plans,
their belief[s] etc. etc.
flashback to that moment in history, wasn't too long ago,
millions are still recovering,
millions were forced to do something "new",
or different, forced out of their comfort zone,
like...
adapting to zoom meetings,
adapting to working from home,
adapting to digital migration,
adapting to new technologies & ideologies,
adapting to new point of views about society in a whole,
the economy changes status & opinion[s],
it determines if we are healthy or relapsing back to old patterns,
millions are stuck in their ways,
until reality gives them a pink slip with no warning,
to natural disasters,
to professional or personal financial collapse,
to unchecked health concerns,
to mental health negligence
to systematic mismanagement,
to unfortunate circumstances,
the list can go on to what can trigger individuals to flat out "start over",
trying new things builds mental strength,
some see opportunity others see uncertainty,
at the end of the day,
you can't depend on SALTi privilege, one must develop resilience!

we use to advise a few retirees on adjusting to life after 40 plus years of the same schedule,
all those years does alot to the mind, it's like workforce ptsd,
they were dedicated to the "workforce" conditioning & programming,
aka the systematic structuring,
now they have all the time in the world and don't know what to do
but considered going back into the workforce,
"starting over" scared them because they never really had to,
unless it was for work related reasons [new position or location],
we've traveled the country and met many interesting characters,
we've met way too many individuals that have never left their town or county,
[that's like saying you live in brooklyn all your life and never been to manhattan or queens, or out the boro in general],
you 60 and never left the porch?
or the neighborhood? lol,
point blank ---> their afraid of change,
we would call them narrow-minded and cultureless, but that's brutal,
we'll stick to the "educational systems" in their state or county has failed them ..!.
we say all this because,
we are writing this in 2026 and if you look around us,
millions are being forced to start over again,
millions are fleeing what they once called home,
where they once had a thriving life,
where cost of living was manageable,
where opportunities were bountiful,
the job or career that once fueled that lifestyle is vanishing,
rapidly,
but why?

it's built in the american culture,
look at all those abandoned towns across the country,
they thrived, now they just lay rot and nature has taken over,
so much red tape,
why do we have a housing problem again?
making the decision to "start over" is taxing on mental health,
it can be very stimulating, or very depressing, or both,
it all depends on the situation or the individual[s] ability to bounce back,
there's no manual on starting over, it's a natural part of life's delicate fabric,
imagine those individuals in the adoption industry racket,
thousands, maybe millions of orphans fall thru the cracks of our dysfunctional system[s], "starting over" is built into their mental development as a survival tool,
the numbers of times those that have had to start over before the age of 18 is staggering,
so just imagine how many millions of individuals are suffering the same fate quietly...
this ain't a doomsday post, this is our reality,
theirs 12 months in a calendar year,
we wonder how many people have to start over every month due to whatever circumstances,
just a brain fart thought,
[got one of those thinking bubbles escaping my head]
what's the best advice to starting over in the game of life?
no two hundred when we pass go,
it's a dice roll,
sometimes you have to gamble on your future,
and it takes risk to "starting over"!
everybody's an expert these days,
for you digital worriers,
or to be politically correct, "influencers",
imagine if you had 500k followers
and you lost them for whatever reason in 24 hours,
think you can start over
and build from scratch to acquire those followers back?
are humans too invested in their dreams
to risk "starting over" for their vision?
it was just a dream, lol...
we awake now ..!.
